Without knowing it, many people develop something akin to a split personality when it comes to buying a home. In the beginning, as they pursue their ideal Costa Mesa house, they automatically assume an unabashedly active role. Nobody has to tell them that they’re the boss in the process—since they are the customer, they correctly expect to be in total command of the house hunting process. They develop their unique wish list and ultimately decide which property best satisfies it.
But then a split can develop. The active, in-charge commander often does an about-face when it comes to the nuts and bolts of the next step: securing the lowest Costa Mesa mortgage rate. Upon entering the realm of what seems to be a monolithic and largely inscrutable
This week, as usual, Costa Mesa celebrates President’s Day on the 3rd Monday in February. Ideally, Costa Mesa’s citizenry observes the holiday by recalling the indispensable contributions of Washington and Lincoln and other Presidential patriots. When you compare today’s typical Costa Mesa house with the one-room log cabin of Lincoln’s birthplace, you get a glimpse of how far we’ve come in little more than a couple of centuries. A lot of Presidents had a hand in getting that accomplished.
In the intervening years, keeping track of what, exactly, comprises the typical American home has been the subject of much measuring and reporting. But last week, as the nation prepared for this year’s President’s Day, the NAR put out a novel kind of
Owning your own Costa Mesa home is, for most of us, a goal that’s been with us so long we don’t even question it. In addition to the economic advantages that come with Costa Mesa real estate ownership, there are, for most, a host of corresponding emotional benefits—the sense of security and “belonging” within the community are just two.
So it should be no surprise that the real estate industry is bound to be at least somewhat affected by changes in the public’s emotional outlook. After all, when people start feeling good about the country and their own circumstances (they’re “optimistic”), they’ll be more likely to see the future in a positive light. Except for the few chip remnants that will dwell down there wedged between sofa cushions until spring cleaning time, the principal residue from most Costa Mesa Super Bowl parties is little more than a jumble of disconnected memories. There was the seemingly endless progression of pregame interviews, clips from past Roman numeralled contests, silly football-themed features, prognostications (somehow seeming to favor Atlanta, even though the serious odds-makers never wavered from their confidence in a Patriots win)—then, finally, the game itself. Well, the beginning of the game, anyway. The actual contest was suspended at length while Gaga was suspended from the rafters. But at long last, once the game resumed, that segment of Costa Mesa’s
